Terms of use

CampusLease is a place for members of a university community to list and find sublets, lease takeovers, rooms, off-campus housing, and roommates. CampusLease does not own, inspect, manage, or guarantee any property, and is not a party to any lease or agreement you reach with another member.

• Anyone can browse. Posting, messaging, saving, and roommate profiles require an account.
• Students sign in by confirming a link sent to a university email address. Confirming it shows a Verified Student badge for 12 months.
• Property managers apply with business details and are reviewed manually before receiving the Verified Property Manager badge.
• Verification confirms control of an email address or review of business details. It is not a background check and does not confirm identity, enrollment, or the condition of any property.
• Keep your sign-in link private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

• Only verified members can submit a listing. New and materially edited listings are held for review before they appear publicly.
• Post only housing you have the right to offer, with accurate rent, dates, and photos.
• A Verified Listing badge is separate from a verified member and is granted only after a moderator review. See Safety for what that review covers.
• Moderators may flag, hold, take down, or remove listings and may suspend accounts that break these rules.

• No scams, fake listings, or requests for deposits before an agreement exists.
• No harassment, and no discrimination based on characteristics protected by fair housing law.
• Keep conversations on CampusLease until you are comfortable; anyone can block or report another member.

Clearly labeled sample listings and sample profiles are shown for demonstration only. They are not real people or places and cannot be messaged, saved, or reported.

CampusLease is provided as-is. Always tour a place, read the lease, and never send money before you have independently confirmed the property and the person you are dealing with.

CampusLease is operated independently as CampusLease and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rutgers University. We may update these terms as the service changes; the date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
